We respond within one month. There is no charge unless a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

International transfers

Some processors are outside the UK. Where they are, transfers rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Data minimisation, in practice

The strongest privacy control is not collecting something in the first place. We do not ask who in your household is elderly, disabled, or dependent on powered medical equipment, even though our books discuss all three, because that list would be dangerous to hold. Where our books tell you to register that information, it is with your energy or water supplier's Priority Services Register, not with us.

Breach

Where a breach is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms we notify the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours, and we notify you directly where the risk is high.

Complaints

Write to us first at hello@skavinger.com. If you are not satisfied, the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk is the supervisory authority.
